ParisTech is developing a cooperation network with several Russian universities and institutions of research and education in Science and Engineering
Russia is one of the main partners of the European Union at the political, economic and scientific level. Traditionally education and research in Russia has been excellent especially in Science and Technology. Therefore for the past fifteen years, several ParisTech member institutions have been developing academic and research cooperation with leading Russian State Universities. As a further step, ParisTech is now willing to bring together and develop the individual initiatives of its members and set up an ambitious program of cooperation with Russian universities.
For this purpose ParisTech is developing a cooperation network with several Russian universities and institutions of research and education in Science and Engineering located in several regions, such as Moscow, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and St Petersburg.
Many academic collaborations such as student exchanges for short or long period, research cooperation, etc. already exist between ParisTech member institutions and Russian universities. The aim is now to develop in common stronger relationships between ParisTech and the best Russian universities or institutes of Science and Engineering.
To begin with, a joint recruitment program will take place this year between 6 ParisTech member institutions and 13 Siberian universities. Selected students from these Siberian universities will come to France for 2 years to take part in a Double Degree program in Science, Engineering or Management at the Master’s level (Magistr). In parallel, contacts will be taken with these universities to extend the cooperation to other activities, such as PhD programs and research.
The increasing number of French companies in Russia, together with the number of “Grandes Ecoles” former students in these companies and in Russian companies, will largely contribute to the development of these relations through a partnership with these companies.
