Every year, doctoral candidates are selected from the laboratories at the ParisTech universities for their motivation and their capacity to embrace a career within a corporation.
These doctoral candidates receive intensive management training, certified by the Institut Doctoral ParisTech during which they develop their business operations skills in an international environment at the same time as they hone their ability to create added value around technological innovation, work within a group dynamic, apply basic marketing techniques and contribute to a public relations strategy for businesses.
Once these young researchers have completed their doctoral courses they submit their professional development, experience and skills for approval by a jury of the ParisTech Doctorate for Business acting under the authority of the Institut Doctoral ParisTech.
A rigorous candidate selection process
The ParisTech Doctorate for Business Program is open to doctoral candidates enrolled in one of the ParisTech universities as well as other doctoral candidates who are enrolled in another institute and carry out their research works in a laboratory at a ParisTech university.
The future Doctor for Business is selected according to his/her motivation and career plan. The candidate must also have education in economics, management and finance as well as some professional corporate experience. Finally their thesis advisor and head of their doctoral program must give their approval.
ParisTech certified training
Selected candidates follow an intensive management training program, certified by ParisTech, of at least 120 academic hours (4 weeks, full-time or 12 ECTS credits) which will train them to:
- Understand business operations in a global environment;
- Create value around technological innovation;
- Work within a group dynamic;
- Apply basic marketing techniques;
- Contribute to a public relations strategy for businesses.
Two programs are certified by ParisTech within the label of ParisTech Doctor for Business:
Doctoral Management Program
The ENPC School of International Management proposes a doctoral management program that aims to introduce doctoral candidates to various management fields and allow them to acquire an excellent understanding of theories, models and working tools for a clear vision of the business operations environment.
Science and Business Doctoral Program
MINES ParisTech proposes a program for doctoral candidates that emphasizes a targeted, engineer-oriented approach to business, combining top level science, management training and an introduction to the problems of state-of-the-art businesses.
Career paths with value
Once their doctoral courses are completed, the jury of the ParisTech Doctorate for Business, acting under the authority of the Institut Doctoral ParisTech, honors young doctorates who have demonstrated their autonomy and initiative in their thesis work with outstanding scientific quality that complies with international standards who also have:
- Basic training in economics, management and finance;
- Intensive training in management accredited by ParisTech;
- Sufficient English language skills to be comfortable professionally in an international context;
- Direct contact with businesses developed during the course of their doctoral studies.
