Overview of ParisTech

ParisTech is a collective entity that includes twelve of the most prestigious French institutes of education and research

ParisTech, a research and higher education cluster of excellence, is composed of several French Grandes Écoles (Engineering and Business Schools) that cover a sweeping spectrum in science, technology and management The high professor/students ratio, the wide range of scientific disciplines covered and the quality of research at ParisTech attract the best students and scientists.

Over two centuries of history


ParisTech benefits from the heritage of its schools: five of them were founded in the 18th century, the rest at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. All are public and come under the aegis of various French ministries or the City of Paris.In the 1990s, the schools were federated into an organisation, ParisTech, and started developing inter-school activities. In 2007 ParisTech became a public establishment of scientific cooperation, giving the network an institutional framework to strengthen its development, especially on the international level.

High level education


ParisTech offers top Master of Engineering, Master of Science and PhD courses covering every area of science and engineering. Students receive science and managerial training preparing them to hold key positions in companies, in civil service or in academic research institutes.

Scientific excellence


Research is the cornerstone of ParisTech and occupies a prominent place. It is characterized by a wide multi-disciplinary approach in the science and technology, international quality and close relationships with industry, services and the socio-economic world.

ParisTech maintains close links with companies in every area to accompany its growth and ensure that training matches economic and social needs.

International cooperation is essential for ParisTech. Since its creation, the institute developed many exchange and partnership programmes with the world’s most prestigious universities.
