Prepare your stay carefully
Important documents
You will need to bring with you a certain number of documents which are necessary for the various administrative procedures – registration with the Police, with the Institute, to rent an apartment, to open a bank account, etc.
Do not forget to bring with you:
- Your passport or birth certificate
- Your visa if applicable (valid for the entire length of your stay in France)
- Proof of registration in your home university/school
- Proof that required fees have been paid to your home university/school
- Proof of health and social security cover, of vaccinations and of compliance with any other relevant health requirement (depending on country)
- The Social Security E 111 or E128 form for Nationals of the European Union
- Declaration of financial support or proof of sufficient funding (a photocopy of one of your parents' recent pay slips will do fine)
- 10 or more recent passport-size photos (full face, bare-headed, clear background)
Useful addresses
Before leaving home, make a list of addresses and telephone numbers of people and organisations which may be useful for you on arrival in France, in case of any administrative or health problem:
