École des Ponts ParisTech

The college proposes the consultation of its catalogue, which lists a large number of printed books and manuscripts from the 18th and 19th centuries as well as drawings made by the students and the articles that have appeared in the Annales des Ponts et Chaussées since 1831.

The Historical Resources Centre of the École Polytechnique

The remit of the Historical Resources Centre of the École Polytechnique is the preservation and exploitation of the school’s heritage. It is organised into three sections: the historical, administrative and scientific archives of the École Polytechnique; the encyclopaedic collection of old books, mostly of a scientific nature; and the diversified but coherent museographic collection: scientific objects, medals, busts, uniforms, iconography. It has three tools for the exploitation of its online resources (digitised documents, databases, etc.), a virtual museum, events throughout the year (exhibitions, symposia, loans of objects, etc.), and partner organisations.

The Historical Resources Centre of ESPCI ParisTech

Set up in 1984, its vocation is to collect, preserve and make known the school’s scientific and historical heritage.

The Heritage Collection of AgroParisTech

AgroParisTech preserves extensive heritage resources in the Heritage Collection of old books and journals that is accessible via the library’s catalogue and the collections of scientific objects and instruments of the Musée du Vivant (ecology and sustainable development museum). Apart from the preservation and study of these rich resources, AgroParisTech’s remit is to enable the greatest number of people to access them, notably through the creation of the Pôle Image (image library) and the Comité pour l’Histoire de l’Agro (agricultural history committee). The historic grandes écoles grouped in AgroParisTech were all founded in the 19th century: the École Nationale des Eaux et Forêts in Nancy in 1824, the first Institution Royale Agronomique in Grignon in 1826, the Institut National Agronomique in Versailles in 1848, and the École Nationale des Industries Agricoles in 1893. They have preserved considerable collections of old books of great scientific, bibliophilic and artistic interest.

The Heritage Collection of the library of MINES ParisTech

The Heritage Collection preserves a rich store of printed books dating back to the 16th century, mainly dealing with mines, metallurgy, geology and chemistry. It is complemented by an archive collection, containing notably the manuscript Travel Journals of students. Certain collections have been digitised and some of them are already accessible: the heritage library is committed to making more of its resources accessible.
