Scientific partnerships
Research here at ParisTech spans practically every technological and cross-disciplinary field that benefits industrial and service-sector businesses:
- Energy
- Raw materials
- Planning and environment
- Transport
- ICT
- Software and complex systems
- Advanced materials
- Physical optics
- Life technologies
ParisTech economics, management and social labs also provide original angles on innovation and technology risk management, two key business development areas.
At ParisTech, we have built close ties with several partner industrial companies (which are leaders in their fields) to map out tailored programmes exploring complex, trailblazing issues. Our expertise springs from the natural synergies between our colleges, and from more original partnerships with Université Paris Descartes, the CNRS, CEA, etc.
Financing research
Contracts with public-sector and private-sector companies – small, medium and large – finance a substantial portion of ParisTech’s research.
MINES ParisTech and Arts et Métiers ParisTech are two of our colleges with specific contract research organisations.
Researchers and business firms
Many ParisTech lab researchers have experience in business firms, and more than half their PhDs join business firms when they qualify. ParisTech runs a management course to ease PhD students into their future jobs in business and industrial firms.
Balanced goals
Corporate financing and government funding cover the bulk of our college’s budgets, and community-level, national and European research contracts provide the rest. What put ParisTech research in a class of its own is the healthy balance between its contract research and its world-class scientific publications.
