Bioengineering programme

ParisTech initiates and develops a bioengineering programme in its areas of expertise:

  • Biomechanics
  • Biomaterials
  • Bioimagery
  • Bioinformatics

Paris Descartes partnership

This programme is pursued by 7 colleges and an university:

A programme built around an M.Sc. degree and teaching & research chairs

The Bioengineering programme is built around an international M.Sc. in Bioengineering and teaching & research chairs.

The M.Sc. in Bioengineering from ParisTech and Paris Descartes gives access after a first multidisciplinary year to five specialisations:

  • Bioimagery
  • Biomechanics and biomaterials
  • Molecular and cellular biotherapy
  • Inter-disciplinary approaches to life sciences
  • Industrial bioengineering

Several chairs are being set up in the different areas of expertise.

The Biomechanics chairs are already set up and operational.

They are carrying out in-depth investigations into health management, playing sport and degenerative pathologies. They are exploring new methods of personalized muscle-skeleton modelling and the acquisition of physiological tissue and cell imagery. Likewise, they are contributing to the advance of innovative technologies in diagnostics, therapy, safety and comfort. In doing so, they help to provide answers to social questions: the management of old age and disabilities and the human and economic cost of accidents.
